Negative Values in a Table

I have a straight table with -ve values. I would like to show  the negative values as (Value), so if the value is -34 I would like to show (34). I tried using the number format but it doesn't work. 

Any ideas?

Which number format did you try? Did you try this #,##0;(#,##0)
