QVSource and QlikWebConnectors on the same server?

Hello,

Just checking if anybody tried to have QVSource and QlikWebConnectors configured on the same server...

We have been using QVSource for a while and are moving to QlikWebConnectors eventually, but I need to have both systems running on the same server to make sure my old scripts are still running until I will modify them to use new "latest and greatest" service...

Any restrictions/suggestions for installation/configuration/execution?

I am running QS 3.1 release and using QVSource to access Mongo DB...

Appreciate your help!

Regards,

Vlad

Hi Vladimir,

I have installed both on same machine and it was working fine.

Did you make any configuration changes on any of the connectors?

From support:

  • we wouldn't recommend this unless there was a very strong reason to
  • they (QVSource and WebConnectors) must run on different port numbers (default is 5555) otherwise there will be conflicts.

So how did you manage that?

Vlad

Hi Vladimir,

I think QVSource is formerly web connectors and I don't think you need to install QV Source . You just run it use it and close it or lets say you don't close it , it runs in back end now Web Connector , Can you please specify which web connector you are talking and how it is different than QV Source ?

Apologies , I am missing something

Rohit,

The problem is with licenses...

We are using QVSource to extract data from MongoDB. And we do still have an active license for that.

But I would like to try some other connectors currently available as part of WebConnectors package and convert my scripts to use new MongoDB connector available with the latest version.

So, this is why I would need to have both setups available on the same system for a while.

Regards,

Vlad

Hey Vladimir ,

I have tried once some mongo db drivers by which you can setup a connection and access mongo db easily . I think you can find driver and tutorials too. Please google it and if you don't find it let me know I will do it for you .
