Hello Gurus,
I have a scenario and I am having difficulties finding a suitable article with a guide.
Requirement:-
We are on Postgres 9.6. Qlik Sense is Aug 2022. In our environment, Postgres is an AWS RDS instance. We want to move the database to our local Qlik server and then upgrade Postgres and Qlik Sense as well to the latest version.
So I thought, why not:-
1. first take back up of the database, apps, and certificates.
2. Uninstall the current version of Qlik Sense on the server then install the latest release which will by default come with Postgres installation which we can do on the local server machine.
3. restore database 9.6 to the latest version of Postgres.
4. Restore apps and certificates.
Am I even thinking right? Is it possible to upgrade this way? Has anyone attempted this?
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thank You,
Ashim
Hi, I haven't done that myself but some notes:
- If it's a virtual machine I would prefer to also have a full snapshot becuase it's a the quickest way to turn back in case something went wrong.
- Take a look at this: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/How-to-configure-Qlik-Sense-to-use-a-dedicat... It's the opposite scenario but I think you would need some steps, like changing the connection string, ther is a non-working link that should go to https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-admin/May2023/Subsystems/DeployAdministerQSE/Content/Sense_DeployA...
