Proxy Status: disabled ---> how to enable?

Hi all,

we have 2 Servers. One is configured as central, the other one as a consumer node.

if i check the nodes in the qmc, it says that on the central 5 of 5 services are running.

on the consumer node, 2 of 2 services are running.

also under engines, both are active and running.

only if i check Proxies, it says that the central is active and running.

but the consumer node is not active and status is disabled.

iam asking because load balancing is not working.

any ideas?

Go to QMC > Nodes > select the node > edit > Under "service activation:, check the proxy check box > hit apply > wait a bit . Note make sure that the service is one on the RIM. It is not a port issue or else it would have "node is offline", but since it say under nodes" 2 of 2", port 4444 is communicating back to the central node.

Hi,

Please check whether port 4444 is opened inbound on consumer node. As this port is used to communicate between both the servers.

Thanks

thanks,

i got this answer from our it guys:

The Machines are in the same subnet, so there is no firewall between the servers.
Also the Windows firewall is disabled for both servers.

So no ports are blocked between these 2 machines.

Hi ,

You can go through the proxy log files on the consumer node and see whether there are any error message.

Thanks

okay, thats it.

thanks.

in the virtual proxy of the central, i have ticked both nodes in the load balancing tab.

do i have to do the same in the consumer node?

Giuseppe_Novello

Well that is more for Engine LB, not proxy LB. For the consumer to LB to that engine, yes you must added it to the VP LB and make sure the service is enable on the QMC>nodes.
