QMC Error: Connection not found: ArchivedLogsFolder

Hi,

I have been looking around on the forum for a solution but I'm out of options... I was trying to add a user (ContentAdmin), but he could only access the hub, not the apps inside. I then realized that the automated tasks for Licence Monitor and Operation Monitor were constantly failing, whith the message below in the error log for both of them:

20240103T173720.055+0100 Error: Connection not found: ArchivedLogsFolder
20240103T173720.056+0100 Execution Failed
20240103T173720.074+0100 Execution finished.

I tried to find the ArchivedLogsFolder connection in the "Data Connection" tab in QMC, but couldn't find it there... it sort of... dissapeared ? It is nowhere to be found in the list...

I'm not even sure what to do anymore, and I have no idea of how to re-create this data connection... Not even sure if I should.

Has anyone encountered this issue before ? Could you please help me fix it ?

Hey there @AMonot ,

You have two different errors here:

  1. issue with the license assignment of a user (which is done via QMC > License management)
  2. issue with the reload of the monitoring apps, due to the fact that a built-in data connection is missing
Note that this issue does not directly impact users (even if you read "license monitor", it doesn't mean that the licenses cannot be used)

So, the data connection ArchivedLogsFolder is just a "folder" data connection, that you can re-create manually.
To see the path that you should use, go to QMC > Service cluster; what you see into "Archived logs root folder" is the path that you need to use for you ArchivedLogsFolder data connection
You can see more here: ServiceCluster - April 2020

I hope this helps,
Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I have been trying to create the folder manually as you explained, however the problem persists and I end up with the same message... Both automated tasks keep failing.

Regarding the licence assignment, I will have to run some tests with this user I'm trying to add, unfortunately he's out of the office this week... I'll keep you informed as soon as I can.

Kind regards,

Antoine

@AMonot

Take a look at this article. I think it can help you recreate the connector.

Hey there @AMonot ,
Could you confirm the name of the data connection created? (a screen could help)

Hi Riccardo,

There was no data connection created, I just manually created the folder following your instructions:

I found the path into the "Service Cluster" menu, then created my folder there. Am I doing right ?

Kind regards,

Hey there @AMonot ,

Actually no! "ArchivedLogsFolder" is the name of the data connection that you need to create into Qlik Sense (so, from the script of an application)
This data connection is something that will exist only into Qlik Sense (so, from a Windows' point of view, you won't need to create anything new!)
The path where this data connection points it \\<name of the server/...>\QlikSenseShared\ArchivedLogs
Here you can find more information about how to create a data connection: Creating a new data connection
