Qlik DataTransfer - What happens in case of issues?

Good evening everyone,

I have some questions regarding Qlik DataTransfer:

  • What happens when there is a network issue on our side (so, between the server where QDT is installed and the external network)?
Does QDT retry to upload the qvd/file once the connections is available once again or do we need to start the task(s) manually?
  • If there is a retry, is there any kind of customizable configuration?
  • Again, in case of any issue (i.e. the server's disk is out of space, the file in the monitored folder is unsupported, ...) is there a way to intercept it 'easily' (i.e. using an endpoint) or do we need to analyze the logs?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Riccardo

1. DB and Qlik app:
Reading data:
Before uploading files QDT will read the data from data sources, reload the data, and create QVDs. During the reload process if any network issue occurs then QDT can’t reload the data and will not create any QVDs and will show an error as Reload failed. There is no retry mechanism in this process.

Uploading file:
User tries manual upload, and there is some network issue then, QDT will retry for 3 times. Even after 3rd time if the file is unable to upload then QDT will show an error. The same thing would happen if you created a task, QDT will try uploading for 3 times then stops.(can’t change number of times it should retry)

2. Shared folder:
Reading data:
After configuring shared folder if any network issue occurs and during that time if any file gets modified or a new file placed under configured folder (including child folder) then, QDT will keep try to read the files every 30 seconds. (You can configure this time duration; the default is 30 seconds).

Uploading file:
During upload of the file if any network issue occurs then QDT will retry for 3 times. Even after 3rd time if file unable to upload then QDT will show an error. Same as DB and Qlik app uploading process.

When a reload is failed (scheduled in the QDT), will there be a notification in Qlik Cloud?
