Qlik Sense Repository Service Error 1053

Hello,

I've installed QS Server and all  services run fine.

Then i stopped the services and now I am trying to restart the QlikView Sense Repository service but Iam getting the following error message
in the windows management console.

Could not start the QlikView service on Local Computer
Error 1053:The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion

Anyone could let me know why Iam getting this error.

Thanks

Hi Reggiani‌,

I too had the same issue when I am setting up Qlik Sense Server on a Domain Network with Local Service Account.

However, when I installed with Domain Account with Domain Level Administrative Rights as a service account, things worked fine. This means in my case it was definitely due to access issues.

One more thing I had done was while clicking on setup the very first thing happened was creation of C:\ProgramData\Qlik folder, and hence before entering service credentials, I gave full rights to domain service user.

Hope this helps to someone who is Installing in Domain Network Machine.

Best,

Hardik

Hi, for me the upgrade of 3.1.1 to 3.1.3 solved the problem temporarily, the problem come again few days after.

The solution was to upgrade the DotNet framework to 4.6.2 version.

Hi all,

Same for me.

I had the same issue on version 3.1.1, the upgrade to the version 3.1.3 solved the issue, but when I tried to restart the services few days after the issue came again.

The upgrade of the DotNet Framework to version 4.6.2 has solved my issue.

i am facing this issue same as you.

I am installing qlik sense server on the server whcih have already joined to domain. However, i created a local service account and try to run the services.

so during the insllation, it prompted me, Repository failed to start. my other services also failed to start.

The IT team then have given it domain ID to use to run the service account, but still cannot.

is it really have to be a DOMAIN SERVICE ACCOUNT when a qlik sense server is joined to a domain???

Hi jim.chan‌,

It doesn't necessarily need to be a domain service account. But when the server is in domain network, there are various domain level access policies are enforced and chances are most that these policies prevent some or the other access to local service account. Most probable solution here is to ensure that the service account (be it local or domain) has all the administrative rights. e.g. most basic is to check an access to C:Drive User.

You can also try installing by logging in to server with the service user account.

Hope that helps.

Hardik
