Qlik Sense Server - Screen Resolution Issue

On Windows when setting the default size of text, apps, and other items larger than 100%, Qlik Sense objects on the server will not resize in the correct manner and will become way too large:

Before: "Change the size of text, apps, and other items: " is set to 100%

Capture 100 %.PNG

After: "Change the size of text, apps, and other items: " is set to 150%

Capture 150 %.PNG

This is the setting on Windows which I am referring to:

Windows Setting.PNG

This article suggests that I have to do the following to solve this on QS Desktop Qlik Sense Desktop - Screen Resolution Issue:

Please navigate to the services.conf file, which can be found here: C:\Users(yourfolder)\AppData\Local\Programs\Qlik\Sense. Open the file with WordPad or the likes, and under the [browser.parameters] section, add the following parameters:

--high-dpi-support=1

--force-device-scale-factor=1

However, this solution doesn't seem to work on the server as QS Server doesn't have a services.conf file

Is there anyone who might have a solution for this?

Hi Alexander,

Thank you for your reply.

We have found the services.conf file now and have inserted the following parameters:

--high-dpi-support=1

--force-device-scale-factor=1

Despite implementing the above parameters, the issue of Qlik Sense objects not resizing in the correct manner and becoming way too large is still appearing within the server.

Dear Alexander,

I found the file under the path you have mentioned but it doesn't include browser parameters. So where I must add the settings under which section so that I can solve the resolution issue.

hi there,

To fix the resolution,

For Qliksense Desktop:

  • Option 1: Change the scaling to either 100% or 125%.
  • Option 2: Change the Qlik Sense app compatibility mode to win 8.
    • Right click on Qlik sense Desktop icon
    • Go to Properties
    • Go to the compatibility tab
    • In compatibility mode section check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" select option "Windows 8".
    • Click OK
  • Option 3: Override the DPI scaling behavior
    • Ensure Windows is set to use 150% scaling (or the preferred scaling level).
    • Right Click on Qlik Sense Desktop app Icon
    • Choose Properties.
    • Select the Compatibility tab.
    • Click the button Change high DPI settings.
    • In the Qlik Sense Properties window, go the "High DPI scaling override" section.
    • Check the box for "Override high DPI scaling behavior."
    • Choose the option "Scaling performed by System".
    • This should ensure the application will use the correct system scaling that has been applied in the windows 10 display settings.
