Apart from this if anybody has a solution kindly help me out. I am attaching Log file and snapshot for reference.
Hello Erini,
Actually, in our organization employees have been categorized and accordingly downloading/installation restrictions have been applied. So I asked the concerned person to remove me from all groups after that I tried to install QS setup and it was successful.
I hope it will help.
Hi all,
About every things here append to me too.
So I update visual C++, create a new admin to install the product, etc...
No luck for me.
So I decide to extract the MSI form the installer (via 7zip) and try to install them one by one.
Only qliksense desktop doesn't install and It seems to stop only at the end.
What is causing the issue seems to be here in msi install logs :

2 things in bold :
- Somethings with 32bits and UTF8 just before rollback (I'm on 64bits updated windows 10)
- User policy for rollback
As I can disable rollback, I tryed.
You can do it via registry
Here is the content of the dot reg file that can do that :
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows]
"DisableRollback"=dword:00000001
obviously, the installation do not end correcly.
BUT ! qliksense desktop is install and seems to work. (for what I can do with it for now)
Don't forget to install the others MSI or you will miss connectors at least.
Hope that can help somebody.
I could not reproduce your procedure.
I use 7Zip to unzip the MSZip files, change the not extension to '.msi' but get the attach error.
Something is missing...
Hi, Pierre,
You're right, I missed a step in the extraction process.
You download a .exe file from qlik.com. You have to begin the installation.
Until it install, it extract the msi files in this folder :
%appdata%\..\local\Package Cache
In that folder, I can see 3 another folders with names like this : {7BE5A41B-B71B-49CA-94F7-DACBB4037CEA}v11.24.1
And finally the msies in it (one per folder):
DesktopConnectors.msi
DemoApps.msi
SenseDesktop.msi
Be aware that the folders will be deleted as the installation failed.
I have the same issue with current release: February 2019.
I was forced to upgrade the working installation of Qlik Sense Desktop and the installation of new version failed. The progress bar gets to about 30%, freezes there for a long time (meanwhile log file gets appended) and then displays "Installation Failed An error has occured. For detailed information see the log file."
I have tried to uninstall previous version - uninstalled. No success. Fresh installation fails identically.
The log file has over 208 MB.
I have no 3rd party antivirus software installed (only defender).
What else can I co?
Searching for occurences of a word i'Error" in log I have found the following:

Managed to make it work. What I did:
* I have blocked the 'rollback' ability of the Microsoft Installer
* I did it via gpedit.msc (group policy editor), I have enabled the rule forbidding the collection of rollback data of installer
* rebooted system
* installed Qlik Sense Desktop ... .installation failed as usual
* re-enabled the rollback ability of installer in gpedit
* rebooted system
* launched Qlik Sense Desktop - could not login (did not get the username /password screen, qlik sense was claiming that there is no internet connection.
* rebooted again
* launched Qlik Sense Desktop - seems to work ok.
I don't know which steps are not performed by installer. I hope irrelevant ones
Maybe somebody from Qlik will tell us what error 1603 means and what should we double check while using qlik sense.
This issue can be resolved by making sure the account is actually a Service Account. Even Administrative accounts are NOT service accounts unless specified.
Depending on the Windows OS version you can do the following:
1. Open Administrative Tools (older versions, Control Panel, new versions, click on Start)
2. Select Local Security Policy, expand Local Policies, click on User Rights Assignment
3. Select Act as part of the operating system. If your user is already listed, skip to Step 5
4. Click on Add User or Group and add the desired user account. Click on Check Names and make note of the entire name, example: MYHOST\myservice
5. Return to the listing for User Rights Assignment and select Log on as a service, following the same directions as above
6. Close Administrative Tools and return to the Sense installation
6. Using the same exact name that appeared with Check Names, enter the service account name in the User dialog, with the correct password.
None of the solutions posted to the community worked for me and it turned out that the problem is with the NetBIOS name of the machine. I had it too long and changing it to something that NetBIOS didn't complain about, fixed the issue.
Second possible resolution might be:
The issue with the installation may come from using the wrong computer/maschine name!
Somehow it accepts the user and credentials but then fails, the easiest way is to use the exact name of machine name/user name taken from the properties of a file, security tab and then use the account full name from there.
Hope the above helps.
Stay safe
