Supports NFS share storage for Qlik Sense client managed

Hi all, I would like to know if Qlik Sense (ver. November 23) support NFS share storage that is already created in the network (not just created in the windows server) . Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan, thank you for the response. I had seen the Qlik help, I think it refers to the creation of an NFS share on the server and not to the use of an external NFS share already created on the network, maybe I'm wrong? Thanks Stefano

Hi Stefano, on the help site the nfs must meet the requirements. If it does meet those requirements everything should be ok.

Hi Alan, maybe I'm missing something but I don't see any particular requirements; It is not clear what I highlighted, that is, whether the NFS share must necessarily be on the Windows server where Qlik Sense is installed or it's possible to use already defined one. Are there perhaps more detailed requirements? Thanks in advance

Hey Stefano,
No, the file share can also be outside of your Qlik Sense servers, even an already defined one.
In the link provided by Alan, you can read this at the third bullet of the list (The file share can run on...); also, all the bulletted list explains the requirements for the file share folder

I hope this helps,
Riccardo

Hi @StefanoC ,

According to the help site you need a storage device supporting SMB 3.0 as a network file sharing protocol, so you need to verify your NFS server is configured with SMB 3.0 support. Check any documentation related to your Network Attached Storage (NAS) or use Samba or similar software on Linux to configure the NFS server with SMB 3.0 support.

Hope this helps,

Bjorn

@StefanoC, My question is also same that Storage based NFS (It is not created in the windows server) is supported by Qlik or not. Please reply

@RaviSingh @StefanoC Storage can accept many different OS languages. Qlik support windows for the Qlik Sense, Qlik View, and Nprinting. It is up to the customer to make sure that the storage communicates to Windows. So it is not up to Qlik if we support it is up to the customer to make sure that the storage can handle read/write access to Windows.
