Upgrading to August 2021 QSE on Windows - Repository Superuser PW Required?

The August 2021 upgrade prompts for the repository database superuser password during install when a local repository database that was installed previously with QSE setup is detected (apparently for PostgreSQL upgrade purposes).

Does the August 2021 upgrade installer prompt for the repository database superuser password when QSE is configured to use a standalone PostgreSQL database for the repository?

Hello @jbaechle

If you install with a standalone database from the start you don't get the prompt.

Since you started with the embedded and then moved to standalone it will check for two things

  • Qlik Repository database service
  • Folder c:\programdata\qlik\sense\repository\postgresql\9.6 or c:\programdata\qlik\sense\repository\postgresql\12.5

If you have the standalone DB rename the folder above to 9.6.old and run the installer again

Thanks very much for the information.  The initial install was done with a standalone PostgreSQL repository database so I should not expect the prompt when upgrading to August 2021.  That has been the behavior I have come to expect.  Qlik's online documentation for the upgrade process changed for August 2021 and states that you will be prompted for the repository superuser password.  I just wanted to clarify.
