Comparison of Qlik Mapping and Qlik GeoAnalytics

Hi everyone!

Since a few days, I have been learning some new stuff about Qlik GeoAnalytics, watched a few videos, tutorials in order to get started with the subject. Until now, I've noticed that there is no relevant difference between the features presented by GeoAnalytics and by Qlik Mapping despite some operations like routing or address lookup.. so my question is : What are the real key differences between Qlik GeoAnalytics maps and Qlik mapping charts in the new releases of Qlik Sense ? Why do one organisation chooses to work with GeoAnalytics instead of Qlik Mapping, knowing that most of the features are now available in Qlik Mapping ?

It would be insightful and helpful if someone of you can share with me some use cases where GeoAnalytics has to be applied (aside from rooting and address lookup).

Thanks in advance!

Hi @mab_koz,
At the end of this link https://community.qlik.com/t5/GeoAnalytics/Difference-Between-Geo-Analytics-Maps-and-Qlik-Maps/m-p/1...  they provided below differences

-------------.

There are 2 major components to GeoAnalytics:

  1. UI Extensions: which I will say are becoming less important as the functionality is moving into the "core" map object. At this time (April 2020), the differences are quite subtle - but can be useful. The one that springs to mind is the GeoAnalytics Point layer which allows for dynamic (fx) images, whereas native map just a singular image.
  2. Connector: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/geoanalytics/Content/Qlik_GeoAnalytics/GeoAnalytics-Connector/GeoAnalyti... . This allows for geospatial calculations in the ETL.

---------------.

I can add that as long as you use "native map" vs "GeoAnalytics (extension) map", you will find few differences in use: for example when exporting native map vs geoAnalytics map (extension), adding them to story telling or using them with Nprinting, when working offline and want to install and use you own GeoAnalytics local server etc...
