Hi,
How to change the background color of Qlik Sense + Geo analytic map? As you can see in below SS that map default background color 'Gray' but our client wants us to change it as 'White'.
I have created below layout and default background color is GRAY, I could not change the BG color through tool:
Expected result:
Let me know if anyone is aware how to change this background?
Thanks
Dilip Solanki
Hi Dilip,
There is no explicit setting for map background color but a big white box as a background layer will give the same effect.
Here's a geometry for a world covering box in WGS84, place in load script, use bg_box as dim/geometry
background:
load * inline "
id_box|bg_box
world|'[[ [-180, -80], [-180, 80], [ 180, 80], [ 180, -80], [-180, -80] ]]'
"
(ansi, txt, delimiter is '|', embedded labels)
;
To render: change draw order to Geodata layer, switch off the info bubble, don't include in AutoZoom, make the layer non-selectable and set color mode to single color: white.
Change background color of 'empty' base map
Thanks,
Patric
Hi Patric,
Thanks for your suggestion.
I have tried your solution, its working but not fulfilling our expectation. I took area layer and set bg_box as dimension, single color is white. But entire map is not converting as white background. Only the canvas area of map is white. We are using the same map in mashup for some custom map.
Following properties I have settled in bg_box area layer:
1. Dimension: bg_box
2. Include auto zoom: unchecked
3. Draw order :-1
4. Show Info bubble: Unchecked
Have a look in below image that how map is coming in qlik sense desktop:
In below image, red border area is grayed, it also should be white + gray dark border on right side of map should not be appear.
Mashup view of map:
See in below mashup, we have white BG in middle but in left and right we have gray.
Can you please suggest that how can we get rid of this issue?
Thanks

Hi Patric,
I have above solution with Geodata layer as well, but this layer neither have dim/geometry nor any single color option.
Thanks
Dilip Solanki
Hi Dilip,
Sorry, the workaround won't solve grey areas when zoomed out because the map background spans across 180,-180 degrees. A new mapchart is planned for mid 2018 that will have color setting for map background.
Thanks,
Patric
