Detect / sync Assets panel open-close state when embedding (qlik-embed classic/app)
Hi everyone,
We’re embedding a Qlik Sense app inside a custom web shell (product left navigation in HTML/CSS). The Qlik toolbar still shows Assets / Sheets / Bookmarks, which opens Qlik’s left Assets panel.
Goal: avoid two left panels at the same time. Ideally:
When the user opens Qlik’s Assets panel → collapse our HTML left nav
When the user opens our HTML left nav → close Qlik’s Assets panel
Questions:
Is there a supported API or event (qlik-embed classic/app, Capability API, refApi / Engine API, UI events) to read whether the Assets panel is open or closed?
Is there a supported way to programmatically open/close the Assets panel from the host page?
Can we attach a click/listener to the Assets / Sheets / Bookmarks toolbar buttons from the parent HTML when using qlik-embed? (Assuming classic/app runs in a cross-origin iframe.)
If none of the above is supported, what’s the recommended pattern for embeds that already have their own left navigation?
We checked the docs for qlik-embed parameters, refApi, Capability Navigation API, and Analytics UI events, and didn’t find anything for Assets panel visibility—wanting to confirm with the community before we commit to a design.
