Giving Automatic Access for Specific app to specific users in same Space in Qlik SaaS

Hi!

I am writing to inquire about automation capabilities within Qlik Cloud regarding access management.

Currently, Qlik Cloud allows to manually grant specific users access to select apps within the same space. We are trying to determine if it is possible to perform this granular access control via automations.

Our goal is to leverage the Automation Loop and Reduce functionality, ensuring that users only have access to their designated apps within the same space. While we recognize that creating separate spaces for each app is possible, this approach presents two major issues: it would be difficult to maintain and it would be confusing for users who require access to multiple apps.

If this is not currently possible, I believe this capability would be a valuable and highly beneficial feature enhancement for improving automatic access management on Qlik Cloud.

did you try with creating groups??

you can create/manage groups at 2 level either in your AD or in Qlik cloud.

Hello!

Thank you for the suggestion. Creating groups is a good idea. Nevertheless, I would like to confirm if it is possible to share the various Apps directly with those groups using the automation.

If we create a separate space for every group, we would quickly end up with hundreds of spaces, which we hope to avoid. Additionally, we need to ensure that the same people can have access to more than one App.

you can achieve that by using the Create Space Share block.

Use:
Type: group
AssigneeId: the groupId
ResourceId: the appId

Using this combined with groups as Prashant mentioned will allow us to give specific access to apps.
