Restoring Qlik and the Apps are not found

I did a restore of Qlik Sense in order to upgrade PostgreSQL from 9.6 to 12.5 following these instructions

However after restore the Apps show up but will not open. Receiving a message: The app you specified could not be found.

During restore I placed the ProgramData AND Program Files shares back and overwrote the new install files.

Any help how I can fix this?

I managed to fix the issue for those that may be curious.

I ran QlikConfigUtil.exe and updated the file shares to point to the old file share. Additionally I had to make sure the old file share permissions are set to full control for the services account and the folders are shared.

The only difference is that the folder structure was different between the two installs so I had to specify the root "Apps" folder.
Ex:

  • new install file share was located in "C:\QlikShare"
  • old install file share was located in "D:\QlikWarehouse"

Final Folder settings were:

  • shared foot \\servername\D\QlikWarehouse
  • app folder: \\servername\D\QlikWarehouse\Repository\Apps
  • etc.

Hello @slccuitdepartment,

As part of the restore steps of the Qlik Sense installation, did you confirm the Qlik Share path? Please refer to Qlik Support article How to Take Backup and Restore Qlik Sense Enterprise for more details.

Hello @Chip_Matejowsky I checked the two Program Files and ProgramData folders. Would the share be different?

During the fresh install, I was prompted to use a new file share which I did on C:\QlikShare
Our regular volume with app details is D:\QlikWarehouse

Is there a way to switch this for the app after re-install to the previous volume or can I just copy/paste the content to the new share location?
