Qlik Sense SaaS tenants are located in one of three regions:

  • Americas (USA)
  • Europe (Ireland, Frankfurt, London)
  • Asia-Pacific (Singapore, Australia, Japan)

Check the help site for details about each zone and possible updates.

The region is selected at the initial configuration. You are restricted to one tenant per region.

If you need to change the tenant region then you need to go ahead with creating a new tenant, changes cannot be made on the existing tenant.

To migrate an existing tenant from one region to another, follow the provided instructions. Note that the content is not migrated or moved for you. All settings need to be recreated on the new tenant and apps imported.

  1. Raise a Qlik Support service request:

    1. Include your contact and tenant information
    2. Add details on what region you want to move the tenant to
    3. Export Apps from your old tenant

Managing apps

  1. Follow Qlik Support's instructions on how to create a new tenant.

  2. Configure and populate your new tenant. Content and settings are not automatically migrated when a new tenant is created.

    1. Configure your IdP (Identity Provider). Mirror the original settings in your first tenant.

      Managing identity providers
      Setting up identity providers

You will need to update the Tenant URL on your IdP's end as well. Verify by testing user authentication.
    2. Set up user allocations

      Assigning user allocation

    3. Create Spaces

      Managing spaces

    4. Import them into the new one

      Managing apps

    5. Set up Alerts, Subscriptions, and Reloads

      Managing user resources

    6. Complete the setup with further customization where applicable

      Managing extensions
      Webhooks
      Managing web integrations
      Managing API keys

Note that all customisations need to be adjusted, such as Web Integration via iFrame or API integrations. The new Tenant URL needs to be updated in the integrations and new API keys need to be generated.

  3. Inform Qlik Support that the migration has been completed.

* an extension can be requested from Qlik Support if required.

Hello @Sonja_Bauernfeind

Quick question What is the deadline we have the old tenant, i.e available for 30 days to migrate to the new tenant and after that the old tenant is disable?

Hello @TcnCunha_M

The deadline will be communicated by Support (the migration requires you to contact us before you get started). Though 30 days is usually the standard timeframe once a tenant has been flagged for deletion (as deleting the old tenant will likely be a part of the process you start with Support). See Deleting a Qlik Cloud tenant.

All the best,
Sonja
