After an upgrade to Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows May 2023 patch 3 or later, REST connections fail with the following error:
"WITH CONNECTION" is not allowed. To allow "WITH CONNECTION", select Allow "WITH CONNECTION" in the connector settings.
The Allow WITH CONNECTION option is not exposed in the REST Connector GUI and cannot be changed.
Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows August 2023 and later are not affected.
To resolve the issue, upgrade to August 2023.
To manually mitigate the issue in the May release branch, replace the qsdfw_qsefw_qlikview.qliksourceconfig file. Qlik is investigating a solution which does not require manual intervention.
Backup the affected file before continuing with the workaround. When taking the backup, do not keep the backed up file in the same folder. (see end notes)
This change must be done on all nodes and schedulers.
End notes:
The folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Qlik\Custom Data\QvRestConnector can only contain one qliksourceconfig file with correct name: qsdfw_qsefw_qlikview.qliksourceconfig
If there are two qliksourceconfig files (even with different names, such as a backup), the first one in alphabetical order will be chosen.

Does not affect August 2023 and later releases.

Hello everyone, just to let everyone know the file replacement indeed worked!!. In my case, I have recently upgraded from Nov 2021 to May 2023, and this was one of our problems. Most precisely with the App Metadata Analyzer.
Many Thanks @Benoit_C and @Sonja_Bauernfeind for the workaround.
Hi @Benoit_C
We are currently operating in a multi-node configuration with three units.
Does the node to replace qliksourceconfig include all nodes containing Qlik Sense?
I have one node that is operated exclusively for reloading, is this also a node subject to replacement work?
This document says "1.On each Qlik Sense Server node, navigate to", so all nodes are certified, is it correct?
Hello @sis,
You need to perform it in all nodes, also the reload node.
Regards,
Benoit
Hi @Benoit_C ,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Hi
I am using May 23 Patch (5) but the issue still exit. I think it is resolved in Aug 23.
But for now I have resolved the issue with following :
We have updated Qlik to version November 2023 Patch 1, and unfortunately, there is still no checkbox in the connector settings. We are using the CM version. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi @Benoit_C
Is there a solution for this in Qlik Cloud?
I am getting the same 'With connection' error, as you mention in this post.
But this solution is only for Qlik Sense Enterprise, right?
Thanks,
Peter
Hello @peter_nbc
Seeing this in Qlik Cloud would be a different root cause that should be investigated. This article is only valid and applicable for the on-premise version. Please post about the issue you are seeing in detail (with error messages) in the appropriate forum.
All the best,
Sonja
