Importing User From LDAP to Nprinting with "Import" Feature

Hi Friends,

I have to import users from LDAP to Nprinting to use Newsstand using the LDAP Username and Password.

I have the following things to be cleared please help me on the same,

1. LDAP User's information is stored as ENTRY, not as Users. Is it possible to import these as users in Nprinting?

2. User Name, Password, Groups and Filter can be imported using the import feature, or do any things need to be done?

3. Can we use Username and Password in the LDAP to open Newsstand?

4. If Filters for these users can be imported using excel means, How to get users listed in excel.

Thanks in Advance...

Hi,

As per the official help site page linked by @Lech_Miszkiewicz , you can import users from and LDAP server. Imported users are created as Qlik NPrinting users so you can see them in the user management page of the Web Console. If the LDAP is an active directory domain server, the domain user field is filled so the users can login via Windows Login button.

The privileges of a user depends on its security role https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Security-manage... and roles can be associated to users imported via LDAP. So you can use the built-it roles or create new ones and associate them via LDAP import.

Filters can be created and/or associated to users only via Excel import, manually or via API https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/APIs/NP+API/index.html?page=65

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi,

what have you studied so far in regards to this topic?

help document explains all your questions, so just wanted to know which of them are still not understood.

import from LDAP: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Users-Fi...

If your LDAP is AD or supports windows authentication then you can use this to SSO to NewsStand & Admin Console otherwise you will not login with email and password (then this can also be from LDAP)

import from excel: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Users-Fi...

cheers
