NPrinting 17 with Qlikview Distributed Documents with ON-Demand

Current situations:

  • Qlikview server version: 12.20.20400.0
  • Qlikview Dashboard Document that is distributed by user (100+ users)
  • The distributed documents are named as DocumentName-USERNAME.qvw
  • The Dashboard has ON-DEMAND feature for NPrinting enabled
  • We are running Nprinting version: Version: 17.6.0000.0

Currently the only way i can think of linking the ON-DEMAND feature with the NPrinting report, is to create a separate Connection and Report on nprinting per distributed document, as in per user, which is not practical or feasible.

Any ideas on how to deal with this case ?

BTW thank you all for the quick responses.

question was there for nprinting 16 a feature that allowed for this ?

Ability to get filtered selected on one dashboard but send them to another report built on a different dashboard as long as the fields are named the same ?

Hi,

Qlik NPrinting 16 supports Linked Fields and filters based on them.

In Qlik NPrinting 17 you can create a filter that filters two different fields in two different connection. It is not necessary that they have the same name because you add them manually. For example you can create a filter that filters CountryFromConnection1 = USA and CountryFromConnection2 = USA. If you have more connections you have to add the field for each connection.

In Qlik NPrinting 17 you can also use APIs to create filters from an external software https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/April2018/APIs/NP+API/index.html#filtersPost

Best Regards,

Ruggero
