Has anyone ever received the following error message when trying to preview a report in NPrinting:
If so, what did you do to fix the issue?
We are using NPrinting 17.3, the .qvw file that is linked to this app is 82k and we have one filter on the current year. I wouldn't think we should be getting a time out error.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Good day , yes , if the preview runs for longer than 10 minutes , you arnt allowed to view the preview and you will have to run the full report and view it instead .
Thanks for the reply, but my question is why would this report take so long to run? I'm only trying to show three very simple charts for the current year.
Can you post the template?
The preview can be very long in case of, for example, many nested levels.
Do you have this error only with a specific template? Could you test another template?
Best Regards,
Ruggero

Will this work Ruggero?
It's pretty straight forward. It's a very simplistic report that I was using as a proof of concept. It really shouldn't time out like it has been.
This is very simple and it should be produced fast.
Did you tried to preview another template? Just to understand if the problem is in the template or in the installation.
Is the Engine/s online?
Did you checked the logs to see if there are some errors?
I just checked another Excel based report that uses the same App. Again it is pretty simple and it took 4 minutes but the preview actually opened. I'm not sure how to tell if the engine is online but I'm assuming it is since I was able to preview the Excel report. I'm also not sure how to go about checking the logs.
Hi ,
Its not problem with the engine . Engine location you can see when you login with the Admin only
--- Admin -tab--- engine settings---- there you can see engine is online or offline
if it is in offline reports will not work.
and the error is more than 10 min ----- it because of the data /charts or more in the template by size wise..
same report dont do preview schedule the task it will work ;
correct me if i am wrong
Chanty,
Thanks for your reply. If I schedule the task and have it emailed, it does work, although it still takes some time for the task to complete. This seems like a pretty bad work around though. Why have a Preview button in the interface if it doesn't work?
Any other ideas on how to solve this issue?
even we got the same ,... if it excel template you can remove the blank rows till down
if it is PPT we are scheduled the task it worked for both Excel and PPT
which version you are using?
