NPrinting Virtual Proxy & Sessions Monitor

Hello Folks,

I have an NPrinting report that impersonates the user in question.  When looking at the Sessions Monitoring app, it's hard to separate out actual user activity, and what we think is NPrinting impersonating the user.

I was wondering if creating a different virtualproxy and ONLY allowing NPrinting to use that new proxy would change the Hostname field in the Sessions Monitor.  This would allow me to instantly segregate out NPrinting activity from real user activity.

Does this idea hold water or is it misguided?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to share that in our setup we see SVC-P-QLIK Service account in session monitoring app as a user for nprinting activities.

We have a dedicated NPrinting user too, but we are seeing things like 1-second app usage durations, and people using the app when we know they haven't touched it around the time the report goes out.  This usage doesn't happen under the MYDOMAIN\NPrintingServiceUser account but happens under MYDOMAIN\SomeUser account.

Hi @JustinDallas

  1. Changing proxy will not change hostname - as it is going to be the same host
  2. Do you use section access in your NPrinting reports? That would explain very short sessions you see...as NPrinting would use the users domain accounts to run reports for them.
