We are using Nprinting 17.6 and am trying to run a report which filters data based on user input like From date and To Date. This is a very simple need and am not able to get it working.
Please help.
Hi Raghu,
How are you accepting user input?
- Daniel.
in this case you can use on demand app +nprinting
Currently we have a table object in Qliksense and have got that over to Nprinting. Running reports based on that. Am researching on the best way to prompt user for input and run the report based on that data. Based on some of the options discussed have also defined variables for from-date and to-date in Qliksense and got them over to Nprinting.
Have not used on demand app as of yet and is it the best way to prompt user for input?.
Would certainly consider that but would like to know more details on that.
yes its best way . Now a days most of using as if you have large data set application this is the best approach (Based on user selection) you can generate the data. export to any other formats like excel ,pdf, ppt .
Thanks Chanty. I have downloaded and configured the input box extension from Qlik Branch. Am not sure how to use the input variable as the variable name also has an expression. I have created two variables for start and end dates. Not sure how to use these variables to the input box.
Would you know of an example on the steps of using the input variable??
Daniel,
Currently I am not and that's what I need to incorporate. We have the Sept 2017 version of Qliksense and Nprinting 17.6. Don't see option for accepting user input objects in this version. Downloaded ondemand app and Inputbox extension from Qlikbranch. Not sure how to use this to link the variables to the report being run.
Raghu
Did you ever get this to work? I need to do the same concept. I need to pass a batch id to the Nprinting report.
thanks
Frank,
Wish I could, but was not able to get it to work. Am using flags in data model for now but very disappointing especially for users as they do not have the flexibility. We have Qliksense and Nprinting installed in November 2017 which is September 2017 versions. Qliksense does not have all the capabilities of Qlikview from my experience.
Not sure if you have Qlikview or Qliksense. But would be a good possibility to do this in Qlikview.
