Nuvola.

At the early beginning NPrinting was the printing (and exporting to Excel) module of a bigger product called Nuvola (the italian word for cloud). The NPrinting code was extracted and translated in English to be sold worldwide via internet. Nuvola used the QlikView ocx and NPrinting was forked in 2009 more or less and recoded to use the public QlikView APIs. At that time QlikView Desktop was in version 8. So it was named NPrinting as Nuvola Printing. After the fork NPrinting followed its own roadmap. At the beginning it was only able to export QlikView objects to Excel and send them via email without the need of QlikView macros, then we added the scheduler (NScheduler) after integrated in the main product, we added the other report types (Office  and HTML) and the last added was PixelPerfet.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

AFAIK is doesn't standing for anything in particular, it's just what the original developers decided to name it!

My guess is news as the users can access reports through the news stand

I don't know the actual answer but seems logically I'd be interested to know.

As per Andrews links sounds like it stands for news printing as the news stand feature came along afterwards as a new delivery method.

The N in NPrinting refers to the first letter of a product that the founders of Vizubi started with before NPrinting.

They kept some of the code from that old product and named their new product NPrinting.

Nothing to do with news or newsstand

What was the name of the product? Curious
