Hi,
We are having a problem restarting a task to reload a database target. The test connection works instantly. But when we trying to start the task, the dialog box with progress bar sits at 'Starting main loop...'. It used to complete in under 1 minute, but now it run for up to half an hour an now it doesn't end at all. In the background the endpoints occasionally flash blue. Network staff at the source's company don't see any incoming connections.
Thanks.
Hi Dana and John,
We seem to resolved late yesterday. First we upgraded our non-prod Qlik Replicate, which was 2 years behind. The task started and completed in under one minute. For sure update software is better, but I wonder if the aslo cleared anything cached in the directories that could have been the real cause. We did the same update in prod and it also resolved.
Apologies for not responding sooner.
Hi @bnpy
What are the endpoint database types?
What does the task log show during this time? You might try increasing logging to trace or verbose to try and capture more information - not all components, but since you're reloading the task Source_Unload, Target_Load, Task_Manager, Tables_Manager and Performance might help. Others might also be relevant depending on the target type, e.g. if we send it a file like Snowflake. If that's the case, File_Transfer might help too.
Thanks,
Dana
Hello @bnpy ,
Besides Dana's comment, we'd like to narrow down which side caused the issue, a great approach is replacing your current target endpoint by NULL Device Target . If the problem disappeared then it's caused by target side, otherwise, please focus on source side troubleshooting.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
John.
