Hello Community,
My client has a new requirement in which he wants that it's client(s) should be able to access their reports over the internet. Is it possible?
To mention here, the clients will be on different networks.
Just like we access our gmail/yahoo account over the web...... and so the client(s) should be able to access their qv reports from anywhere and any network.
Kindly help out in identifying the right approach I should be following to implement the above(if at all it's possible)
This is urgent!
Hi Gaurav,
This is very much possible and almost all the QV users are accessing their reports by this way.
To make this happen you need to make your webserver (where the reports are deployed ) ip as an public ip and then the clients should access the reports through the public ip url.
Hope this helps!

Hi Gaurav,
The common practice of how this is usually done is through VPN. If you have a VPN and say you are at Starbucks, first open VPN, enter your credentials and then you will get connected to your Secure network through which you can access your applications. But for this you would need that machine with VPN.
Or
You can try Vinoths suggestion. This will ask for your Username and password. This can be used from any device and any network.
Thanks a ton Vinoth and Ajay as this will help me. Do you have any document or something where steps are defined to achieve the said goal. I mean server settings etc etc...
Again many thanks for your help.

Hi Vinoth,
Continuing with my query do I need to add members to my AD group?
It's because when it comes to assigning cal(s) to the end users, I usually add the members name to the active directory group. But how will I add external users?
The main question or the point of concern is the security part.
For example, how the external users will gain access to their respective dashboards, what will be the security structure?
What password they will be entering?
The above queries are haunting me for long?
Please suggest
Hi,
Continuing further with the above discussion, I have the following set of queries
Scenario: if the users belong to my client, they access qlikview dashboards without providing their login credentials-username and password
while, if the users DOES NOT belong to my client(external users) who want to see dashboards, should login through Login page by entering their credentials- username and password
My query- Can you please suggests a possible way whereby I can configure the above mentioned possibilities
basically we want to embed the above mentioned 2 scenarios at the same place.
Now the client has Active directories for internal as well as external users. So, how to configure these two ADs on the QlikView Server?
Kindly suggests and again many thanks for providing inputs on the previous occassions
