Hello community,
I am a newbie in QlikView. I do not really understand the memory utilization in QlikView.
My questions are:
Q1: When a particular sheet is active, do the other sheets which are not active also eat up space thereby slowing down the tool?
Q2: Are the charts in the inactive sheet also populated when you are on active sheet?
For eg: If you have two sheets, Sheet 1 is active and Sheet 2 is inactive. Will the charts of sheet 2 populate at the same time when the charts of Sheet 1 are getting populated or Is it that the charts in a particular sheet are populated only when the sheet is active?
Regards,
Vishal
In qv : Hidden/Invisible/Minimized/Inactive Objects Don't Get Calculated, hence don't eat up memory as such.
tresesco's answer is correct for the part of the memory used by the sheet objects (...although labels and show conditions are calculated, also for minimized objects). But there is also the internal database that always use memory, also when the fields in question are not used.
If you want to know more about how QlikView uses memory, you should see more on http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2013/01/28/memory-statistics

Thank you Henric Cronström for more precise information and guidance.
Henric,
This is what I expected, but look here - http://community.qlik.com/thread/94667. Maybe you want to comment there.
Thanks,
