Hi,
Is it possible to edit script on QMC?
If yes How it can be done?
Thanks
Shaila
to edit the script in a qvw like in edit-mode is not possible.
Or do you mean the supporting tasks?
find it on tab System/Supporting Tasks /qvd Creation. Then choose the script you want to edit and you can edit in on the right tab.
Regards
Thanks Martin,
But there is no option of Supporting Tasks under System Tab in my QMC.
Regards,
Shaila
I believe that the "Supporting tasks" tab is only available in Publisher Installations.
okay Andrew.
What can do in case of no Publisher Installations.
I don't think there is a way. Question is why you want to? 🙂
Make Load scripts external to your documents. Give the external script files a .qvs extension and include the script files in your QVW documents wherever needed using the $(INCLUDE=ScriptPath) or $(MUST_INCLUDE=ScriptPath) constructs.
A properly configured editor like NotePad++ will automatically recognize a QlikView script file and its contents, and will be a much better tool to edit script files than the QMC.
Hi Martin,
I also don't have that Supporting task tab in QMC under system Tab how can i get this tab? and what u say edit here?
can you please explain in detail...
This is also a good technique to introduce central configuration files, like e.g. a CONNECT string for a DB connection that is used in several documents. Nobody wants to adjust 10 QVWs simply because some DB parameter has changed.
A central configuration- or script file that is included in every document allows you to update many documents with a single edit.
Supporting tasks are available only if you have a QlikView Publisher license
