Hi,
I would like to be able to select a value in filter A, the select a greyed out value in filter B without erasing the selection in filter A, I just want no data to show up on the graph, forcing user to choose a different combination in the filters. The only way I want these filters to be erased is if the clear button is pressed. Is there a way I can do this?
Thanks,
Natasha
That's one aspect of how Qlik is designed.
The color scheme already indicates what you're talking.
If a selection is greyed out, like below (assuming that's what the user wants to select), there is no selection for this combination, and thus the user should understand that this combination is not valid and will not be available in the related objects (graphs, tables and so on).
Best regards,
Felipe.
Hello, Natasha!
If you want something like this:
So you must use an Alter State. For using it go to the Document Properties (Ctrl+Alt+D), General tab, and set two Alternate States - State A and State B.
After that go to your project. Create a list box and set the State for Field A:
Do the same for Field B but with the State B.
Thats all. Now you can select various values even when they are grey.
Hope it helps!
Have you tried to use Alternate State .. May be this help you
but if I do this, won't I always have to put the graph I am using in an alternate state? And I can only choose one alternate state for the graph, so it will only listen to one of the filters?
