Hi, I am New to QlikView,
For 6 months back ,I created user and i assigned to Doc CAL license to that user.
Recently i assigned Named CAL License to the same user and i dropped DOC CAL License .
Now the issue is User is able to view all applications through Access Point and
User is unable to access through QlikView desktop.
Can you please help on this issue.
Please find the below image.
Hi,
when user login from desktop check its UserName which should be same as he/she login on access point
To check its login user name > create test qvw from that user desktop > take text object > write =osuser()
or QVUSer()
Regards
Hi Max,
Thanks for your reply.
User is using same username and pwd for accessing AccessPoint and QlikView desktop.
Also, without logging into other user computer you can simple check the UserName by dragging your mouse onto the users name you have assigned the CAL licence:
Hi Mindaugas,
Already user added into the Below CAL Path.
system->Licenses->QlikView server->Client access Licenses->Assigned CAL's
Hi Sushmitha,
I had a small doubt,Where the user is trying to open this .qvw file
1)You mentioned Desktop edition ,are you sure he have the proper license for that Desktop edition?
if not he can't open
2)If he is trying in server only this error is raised first time?(i mean previously is it works fine or he is trying this is the first time?)
you are admin so check with your credentials if it is working or not ?
then try with user.
Here,
Why User require to open the Document. Because, We need to give the just access only not for the whole application.
Can i know is that License is valid or not?
If yes, Check whether you gave same SA for that user?
Hi Sai,
Please clarify me.
1)Without Named CAL license, user can't able to view all applications through access point and QlikView Desktop .
Is it right?
2)With Named CAL License ,User able to view all applications through access point and he is unable to view Qlikview Desktop.
we need to give different Named CAL licenses for Access Point and Qlikview desktop? or one Named CAL License required?
for your queries see below answers.
1)If user Don't have a proper license ,he is unable to view all applications through access point, but here user can able to view all applications through Access Point.
2)User is getting this error as first time.
Hi Susmitha,
User will see the documents in Accesspoint if he have proper CAL's(Named,Document,Session..etc)
but if user wants to open the same document in Qlikview Desktop user need to have proper license for Desktop Personal Edition
1) 16 digit number & 5 digit Control number
2) Server leased license
and these 2 types of licenses are not related to CALS
Thanks a lot for your information Sai,
I will verify that User have proper license for Desktop personal Edition or not and let u know ,if any issues.
