Qlikview Accesss point -Dashboard view to users

Hi All,

I have 5 dashboards in my Qlikview access point.

For viewing these dashboards we have given access to user through active directory path in Qlikview server.

Suppose now for 5 dashboards 50 users are assigned for accessing. In this for first dashboard 10 users assigned and second dashboard 10 users assigned and forother three dasboards 30 users assigned through Active Directory Path in Server.

Now my question is when one user login to access point in the access point he has to see only his assigned dashboard.  He should not see other 4 dashboards.

So how can we hide other dashboards in viewing by particular user.

I want this solution in Server level only not through Section access level.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

There are two ways you can do this.

1. Using NTFS Security under QEMC->System->Setup->Qv Server -> Security

If this is enabled you need to go windows security of the file and add the users who should see this document.

2. Using DMS mode

If this is enabled you should go to QEMC-> Document -> User document-> click on application -> Authorization

Here you will have to give rights by adding users in access list.

supposing that you're using NTFS authorization

Thanks for your reply Kaushik,

Now my question is 5 dashboards are viewing when a user login. Here we have assigned to him only one dashboard out of 5 but my client requirement is when he clicks on other four dashboards he is getting access denied to that particular user.

So when a user login to access point he should get only his dashboard not other dashboards to be viewed in access point.

thanks

Hi,

You are trying to give access to users one single dashboard out of 5.

Try to create 5 AD groups,

Add 10 members in each individual ID group.

Now while creating task, for each single task in authorization->names users->AD group.

so that who ever are there in single AD group they will have access to there own dashboard

Hi,

can check with your company windows administrator, because they will take care of creating the AD groups.

We can give list of people need to be added to that AD groups.

Once the AD groups were active, we can start giving named users access to dashboards.

If not directly while creating the task->Authorization->Names users:

Manually we can enter 10 users for each individual users.

so that once task was completed successfully, only that 10 users will have access to each individual dashboards.

I tried with this Sasi. but still it is showing all dashboards.

Okay can you tell me is it possible with giving Section access by assigning each user with QVW file name to that user.

Thanks

Yes using section access we can restrict the access, instead using server authorization was very simple

Please tell me steps how to create section access for users for QVW file level.

Please Just create sample section access table for three QVW files  with 6 users.

thanks in advance
