Qvw file size is more

Hi,

I have a qvw file with size 229,680 KB. will it cause any problem if I make this file availble in access point. And any server issues if I schedule in reload engine.  Please can anyone let me know this.

Thanks.

Amelia,

It depends on several aspects :

  • the compression you chose saving your application (you can find it on setting / document properties / general).
  • the configuration of your server

As a indication, if you are alone on the server (you are the only user), the RAM used by the server (by the QVS) would be around the size of your application in RAM and up to twice this size.

That means that if your application has been saved without compression, it will take up to 460 MB of RAM. It is a first indication.

regards

stéphane

Hi,

you have to ask to add memory to the server, in my production environment I have qvw of more than 300MB.

Even if your compression is set to high, the ram used will be based on the size without compression.

To decrease the size, you can

  • optimize your model
  • delete unused fields
  • decrease the history in the data

if your server is 4GB which is quite basic, you'll have no problem.

I think you don't have to be afraid. your document will take 500 MB of 72 000 MB of RAM available ....
