hello everyone , someone managed to recover a shared file?
Hi,
While using the Server Object Handler, the document lists seems to be empty even though it says the authentication is successful?
Does it require any other configuration...using Power Tools 1.2.
Appreciate your responses.
I get the same results when I try to connect. I also see an SE_LOG: CQvXmlInterfaceRequestHandler error in my application log that seems to correspond to my attempts. I'm running a clustered environment on 11.20 SR 12.
However, I have had success when connecting to my dev environment, which is not clustered and is a single-server node running QVS, QDS, QMS, DSC, and QVWS on the same system. Also 11.20 SR 12
Good post. Thanks for sharing.
===SHARED FILES REPAIR===
Great tools !
I had a shared error , what do I discovered the windows event logs .
SharedFileRepair did not fix the file.
SharedFileViewer made the correction , as follows:
- After opening, I went Tools..Defrag ( It already offers the option to save the corrected shared !!!)
Thank you
Hi sbn,
Thanks for sharing these really useful tools and for expanding the body of knowledge with comments.
Is there a way to make the Server Object Handler Batch work on mounted folders as well? I can only get it to work on .shared files in the root user docs folder.
Cheers,
Aleks
Morning Stefan,
Can you please check the load archive that it contains all your newest files, specifically the Shared File Viewer? The one in the Zip file is still version 1.2 ...
I'm struggling to get the the console version to export to the destination that i specify. If I use the script below, it create an xml file in the same directory as the .Meta file (and time stamps the resulting xml file). I'm hoping that this will be fixed in the newest file...
Command:
QvSharedFileViewer.exe "C:\QV_Prod\Reloads\SAP-Data.qvw.Meta" -ExportAll "C:\QV_Prod\QVData\dotMeta\Reloads_SAP-Data.qvw.Meta.xml"
Thx for the wonderful tools.
Jan
Hi Jan,
I downloaded the latest version of Power Tools, and the version on SharedFileViewer is indeed 1.5.3. Am I misunderstanding? The version 1.2 is only for the whole package. Versions for tool each are separate.
The command line options for this tool is available with the flag -h or -?.
I did try with 1.5.3 and I got the file to write perfectly in the directory, both targeting .shared files and .meta files. Are you sure the command executes correctly? Is the directory there?
Before unzipping the PowerTools.zip, open the windows file properties and click "Unblock". I've had odd problems when I didn't do this.
I'm running "SharedFileRepair.exe" tool, and it seems to be working however the "CeaningTool_Servername.log" log file never gets created in the path it specifies (nor if I pick a custom folder). I looked around can't find it anywhere. Any ideas?
