Most of customers have graphic deign. Those color can be fixed in the script or the variable editor. The expression of the variable can be a RGB function or a hexa code.
For the moment (up to version September 2019), those color variables can't be apply on dimension value or measure color. It's shame that a color variable can't be reuse for custom color, specially for a master measure.
The color panel is missing a expression editor to apply our custom color or condition.

It IS a shame that even in the June 2020 release it's still NOT possible to do something as simple as adding a custom color (e.g. RGB, variable color ) to a measure or measures. This is something that can be done very easily in QlikView AND in other vendors'products (yes, Tableau Power BI).
Forcing us, developers, to use master items it's simply not convenient, and very limiting. Just bring back QlikView's functionalities back!
I've been working as Qlik(View) consultant for the last 7 years now, and I consider myself a Qlik Guy, but I just keep finding disappointments (this is one of many) with Qlik Sense. Agree, MUCH (like a lot) has been improved since the initial release, but Qlik Sense remains far from being a product that I could hands-down recommend to my clients, especially when they already have QlikView. It's even harder when a client is trying to choose between Qlik Sense, Tableau or Power BI. The back-end (script and associative engine) argument is getting old.
