If users actively disable (or enable) Touch Screen Mode in Qlik Sense, this preference should persist across all apps opened by that user, until the user manually changes the setting again.
At present, if a user has a touch-screen-capable device and toggles Touch Screen Mode to Off, this is only retained for the duration of their current session. When they close and re-open Qlik Sense, Touch Screen Mode resets to On .
This issue is still present in Qlik Sense Feb 2022 SR2 (14.54.5).
Many of our users have touch-screen-capable laptops, which are connected to external monitors with no touch-screen functionality. Most users never (or very rarely) disconnect their monitors, so Touch Screen Mode defaulting to On has become a daily inconvenience and cause of confusion (missing scrollbars, "Load More" button etc.).
There are occasional circumstances where the mode is desirable, such as when connecting to an interactive whiteboard, so I'm not advocating for an option to globally disable Touch Screen Mode.
To clarify, we need Touch Screen Mode preferences to be retained per user.
At present, preferences are only saved per session, resulting in complaints from users that they must switch off Touch Screen Mode every day, that they cannot see all of their expected data, that the right-click menu wheel is not clear or intuitive, etc.
