Hello Qlik Users!

I hope you are all doing well!

There are a couple of defects in QlikView 12.50 that are affecting NPrinting:

  • QV-20513: Date format turns into number from "dd/mm/yy" when creating a report on NPrinting
  • QV-20560: QlikView 12.50 exporting to excel turns number fields into text

Due to the nature of these defects, we are requesting any NPrinting customers to refrain from upgrading to QlikView 12.50. The fixes have been identified and resolved by R&D but we are waiting for the release of the patch. I do not have a date yet as to when these fixes will be released but will let everyone know as soon as I have more information. Please note that NPrinting is not yet supported with QlikView 12.50.

We apologize for any inconvenience this issue causes.

Thank you for choosing Qlik!

Kind regards,

Hello!

We have received a diagnostic build of QV12.30 SR4 IEPlugin for the issue QV-18964 "qv.exe hanging after QlikView Desktop is closed", which has solved our issue.

The full fix is scheduled for QV12.50SR2 (which has no release date yet)

Best regards,

Roland

@igorsilvar  Yes, it is possible to downgrade, but the key thing is you must have a backup of your QVPR to restore from for the version to which you wish to downgrade, or an older version that version can then upgrade etc. as the QVPR does not downgrade, so any new schema info etc. may potentially cause issues if you skip that step and create further instability in the environment.  I am not aware of any major issues in the 12.50 track, and you did not mention from which track you upgraded, so I am curious about that, as that may be part of the issue possibly.

Here is a link to a Techspert presentation I did just a few months back regarding QlikView Migration, and I believe I covered downgrading there too, but the key is the QVPR files, so as long as you have an older version of that to restore, should be ok to go that route.

That is about all I can offer with the info provided.

Regards,
Brett

Is this issue confirmed resolved yet? I am asking because I  read in another community thread that there where a fix for NPrinting: Excel reports does not keep the correct format of manually set cells containing variables in the  NPrinting 2020 SR1 release.  Did that SR fix this issue? If not, then when could we expect an complete fix for this issue?

In QlikView 12.50

The problem is not only with NPrinting where dates and some numeric fields become  0

From accesspoint Send to Excel the some numeric fields become text.

I read in the support blog that the release of QlikView 12.5 SR2 is about to be released, hopefully next week. Can we expect to find this NPrinting issue solved with that release? Do you know?

@Vegar  @igorsilvar These two issues are fixed in SR2 and NPrinting is now officially supported.
