Qlik Data Transfer November 2022 expires on the 28th of November 2024

Hello Qlik Cloud Administrators,

The current version of Qlik Data Transfer (November 2022) will expire on the 28th of November 2024.

Your log files may already show the following information:

ABOUT TO EXPIRE: This engine is about to expire. Please upgrade to a newer version! Expiry date: 2024/11/28

Qlik Data Transfer will stop functioning after this date. 

How do I prevent downtime?

A new version of Qlik Data Transfer has been released (14th of November), which will guarantee continued functionality and support until its end-of-support date. The November 2024 release is available on the Download page and its release notes can be accessed in Qlik DataTransfer Release Notes - November 2024.

Qlik Data Gateway - Direct Access

Whenever possible, Qlik recommends using Qlik Data Gateway - Direct Access to load data from on-premise into a Qlik Cloud tenant. The supported databases, the Generic ODBC Connector Package, together with the upcoming support for loading on-premise files, can allow you to decommission Qlik DataTransfer servers (and potentially repurpose them for gateways).

One of our customer reported an issue with this new version related to high cpu usage (100%) of the node.js runtime component even without active synchronization. They have reverted to previous version. 

Anyone with same issue ?

We update immediately one installation with only file sync.  Does your customer use ODBC or File Sync feature?

Qlik Data Transfer works quite well and much faster than Qlik Data Gateway, especially in large databases.
Why not improve the version of Qlik Data Transfer with what it lacks? This way we would have a great application that could coexist without problems with Data Gateway.

Is "November 2022" the only version that will stop working if the product is not upgraded by November 28, 2024?

I understand that versions prior to November 2022 also need to be upgraded due to the support deadline, but they don't have time, so they would like to know which versions require an upgrade by November 28, 2024.

(We have received questions from customers who are not using versions of "November 2022".)

All previous versions of Qlik Data Transfer have reached their end of support date, August 2022 having expired on the 30th of August this year. We recommend an upgrade at the earliest. 

The check which is done and which triggers the message documented in this blog post happens at the service launch.
