I have seen this error in different versions of Talend Studio and not sure how to reproduce it or how to fix it. It occurs in different machines, including on the VM provided by Qlik as part of Talend Studio training. I have now this problem in 2 computers: mine and Qlik's VM.
Let's say you have two or more components added to a job. It does not matter what component; it happens with any of them. You want to connect these components using things like Row or Trigger. So, you go to the first component, right click on it, pick Row and then Main. You expect a line to show up for you to drag it to the second component and have them linked. Well, no line shows up and even if you pretend there is a line and simply click on the second component, nothing happens. Nothing at all. No error, just no line and no connection. The same happens if you use the Trigger option instead of the Row. Basically, any option that we use to connect one component to another.
It is not a temporary error. Once it occur, it will occur until the end of the universe when the entropy turns everything into eternal darkness. It does matter what you do. I tried closing and opening studio, restarting the whole computer, resetting the perspective, even uninstalling and installing Talend Studio again. I tried praying, singing, smiling and crying. Nothing works. Not even conjuring old spirits in a sacred ritual works.
When that happens, another weird thing also happens. Do you know when you type the name of a component in the Designer? If I do it, I can see the list of components, but if I click or Double Click on the component to add to the job, nothing happens. However, this is not so critical, since I can still drag the component from the pallet.
Any clues on the cause of the problem or how to fix it? Am I cursed?

Hello,
It looks like studio installation issue.
Does re-install talend studio help ? No error message in studio log?
Best regards
Sabrina
Yes, it does not work. It does not work even in the VM provided by Qlik.
