Maps Coordinates not displayed within formular

Once again, I require the support of the Qlik community,

I'm currently trying to visualize map data for a vessel. I have GPS data provided in 5 min intervals. My current approach is, for a selected time period (usually 1 h of a day) I look for the earliest and latest GPS recording and extract the Lat and Lon data for these two points. All of that works fine.

To give a  little more context into the data structure:

Unfortunately there is no column for GPS data, rather there is one column that contains all indicators (speed, wind, etc. as well as the GPS coordinates for Lat and Lon). The corresponding values for these are found in one column called value. In order to find the coordinates for a specific time interval, I'm extracting only the values for GPS Lat and Lon, look for the earliest and latest recording for the selected time interval  and have them displayed.

For the purpose of finding the problem, I have added a map with a point layer to see if one GPS location is identified correctly. To see if the data extracted makes sense at all, I have added text fields to show me the coordinates that are extracted by the formula (see below)

Here is where the problem starts for me. So the coordinates are correct (green box). When I enter them manually (here I am using a point layer for which I enter the Lat and Lon data individually), they show the exact location. If I enter the formula for one (Lat or Lon) it will also show me the correct location, however if I enter the formula for both Lon and Lat (each of which give me the correct Lat or Lon Value) the map is giving me this:

Rather than combining the two, it will give me  both values correctly but not match them to a location. So I have the Lat value with 0 for Lon and the Lon value with 0 for Lat.

I can not really make sense of this, and I'm hoping that one know a fix for this, as this has become quite frustrating issue. I hope one you know the answer to this.

Sorry, didn't really understand the issue, maybe you can share a sample app with a few records to get more help.

Are you sure the lat and long fields are being recognized as numbers? can you try doing +1 or something? You might need to force it as a number using num#(field,'0.00000000','.',',') or similar.
