Hi @yonggangsong , the main question here is will there be no internet access at all, or will they allow selected connections on specific ports and addresses?

You will definitely need to consider the license service here:
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-admin/November2021/Subsystems/DeployAdministerQSE/Content/Sense_De...

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/LicenseServiceP...

In particular, a signed license key requires connectivity over port 443 to license.qlikcloud.com.

If using maps you will also need to consider this.

Dear Danuele,

We can't access to Internet directly(by default network route), but we can access Internet by proxy server.

We have few data connections need loads the data from internet website.

Above URL just works with Qlik license service? or it also works with Qlik data connections? Thanks a lot for answer.

Hi @yonggangsong ,

if you are connecting to sources that are on the internet, you will need to setup the proxy accordingly or, in some cases, allow exclusions.
It depends on which connector you are using. For instance, here's the instructions for the Rest connector  . Other connectors will have different routes to follow.

Cheers!

Dear Danuele,

Could you please let us know how to setup proxy for salesforce connector? we added proxy settings in salesforce connector edit interface, but looks it doesn't work.

Or how to setup proxy for whole Qlik Sense system? because there may have other third party extension also need internet access.

Hi @yonggangsong ,

you can easily find instructions for any connector by googling Qlik + the name of the connector + proxy.
Here's what you need to do for the Salesforce one. If this is not working, you might need to check with your IT.

If you don't want to open a connection to the whole internet, you will need to be specific about what you open according to the extensions you have.
Consider that, in most cases, internet connections for extensions will be opened client-side (by the end user's browser), not by the server.

Navigating through IT security restrictions can be a challenge, but kudos to you for seeking solutions. Setting up a proxy for Qlik Sense Enterprise and NPrinting is a smart way to ensure both security and functionality.
While I don't have real-time specifics, you might find proxys.io a great resource for insights on proxy configurations and their benefits. Their guidance could help you steer in the right direction, even if the thread is from a while back. Remember, adapting to security measures is essential, and proxies can be your allies in achieving that balance.
