Hi,
Unsure if this is the right place to post.
We are migrating our Qlik Sense applications from a cloud hosted VM, using Qlik Sense Feb 2018 version, to an on-prem server hosted VM, using Qlik Sense Feb 2021 VM.
We only have one license key, which is used to activate the Feb 2018 version.
1) Are there migration utility tools available to assist with the migration of the Qlik Sense applications?
2) Can we preserve the configuration that we have enabled on the old cloud hosted VM, so we can replicate the environment on the new on-prem server hosted VM.
3) How do we disable the license on the old server hosted VM?
Thanks
The Sense installer also does any needed migration of your applications.
You can have several Sense servers activated with the same license key.
Limitation is not in the number of servers but overall users.
Disabling the old server is no more complicated than uninstalling or simply shutting it down.
I would suggest you migrate the version you have to the new server BEFORE migrating.
Then when you are up and running on the new server you can update that to the version you like.
In the mean time your end users have access to the old server without any interruptions if there are things you have to address during the upgrade.
When all is fine on the new server you direct your users to the new server.
Keep the old server for reference a short while and when everything has checked out you can shut that down and after some time delete it completely.
Hello @ST_Engg ,
Thanks for posting.
First topic I would strongly suggest is to review the information available on - STT - Worry Free Migration for QlikView Server/Pub... - Qlik Community - 1686447
Then, you need to have the same version when migration, so better to upgrade the current VM to Feb 2021 and then migrate while, of course, having a snapshot and rollback plan in place as needed.
Also, I would also suggest to contact your Account Manager to see if you could get a temp license to be able to preform the migration without rush.
I hope this resolve your queries!
Cheers,
Albert
