Qliksense upgrade

Hi,

We are in Qliksense November 2021 version and planning to upgrade to August 2022 version.

The installation guide says that PostgreSQL 9.6 is not supported when upgrading.

We have an dedicated Postgres SQL running the following version on Linux

So should we manually upgrade to PostgreSQL 11.x or PostgreSQL 12.x on the existing Linux server and then perform the upgrade on all the qliksense node?

Thanks

I am also finding the guide a bit ambiguous:

"PostgreSQL 9.6 is not supported when upgrading. You can continue to use PostgreSQL 9.6 in existing deployments (August 2022), but when upgrading Qlik Sense, you will need to use PostgreSQL 11.x or PostgreSQL 12.x. PostgreSQL 12.x is included in the installer and is used in the Qlik Sense setup by default."

The Qlik Postgres Installer (QPI) has these statements:

"Existing QRD setups running Qlik Sense embedded PostgreSQL 9.6 (Qlik Sense February 2022 and higher)" and "Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows February 2022 and above are supported versions for QPI. Upgrade to a supported version for QPI first and then use QPI to upgrade PostgreSQL"

So from reading both of these guides I have assumed that I can upgrade to August 2022 with Postgres 9.6 and then run the QPI process to upgrade Postgres to 12.5.

We use the embedded Postgres database but my assumption is that the same rules apply, with the exception that you would need to separately upgrade your standalone Postgres installation.
