Hello,
I have installed a Qlik Sense server (single node) feb 2024 version.
Users can log into the server, and access QS Hub through the web browser, no problem. But they have to log in to the actual server first.
I'd like the users to be able to log in from their normal server, I mean, just open up the browser and then type in the address to the hub (https://domain.se/hub).
I have imported users from the AD.
There is only a central proxy, no virtual proxy (I'm not sure it's necessary, since we have only one node).
I am not sure on what to do with the firewall, that is now in a normal configuration, so it blocks just about anything. The ports 80, 443, 4243 and 4244 are open, though.
I'm a bit at wit's end here? What am I missing?
Cheers
Jörgen
Hi Jörgen,
Since you've imported users from Active Directory and have a single-node setup, it should be possible to achieve this. Here are some steps you might consider:
1. Review Qlik Sense Configuration: Double-check your User directory connectors configuration settings in QMC, particularly those related to authentication and user access. Ensure that the necessary authentication method (e.g., Windows authentication) is properly configured.
2. Check Virtual Proxy Settings: While you mentioned you have only a central proxy, it might be worth reviewing the settings to ensure everything is correctly configured for your setup. Even with a single node, virtual proxy settings could impact user access.
3. Firewall Configuration: Since you mentioned your firewall is in a normal configuration, it's essential to verify that the necessary ports (80, 443, 4243, and 4244) are open for inbound and outbound traffic. Additionally, ensure that there are no other firewall rules blocking access to the Qlik Sense Hub.
4. DNS Configuration: Verify that the DNS records are correctly configured to point users to the appropriate URL (e.g., https://domain.se/hub). If the DNS resolution is incorrect, users might not be directed to the correct endpoint.
5. Testing and Troubleshooting: Encourage users to attempt accessing the Qlik Sense Hub directly from their web browsers again after ensuring the above steps. Monitor any error messages or issues encountered during the login process, and use them to further troubleshoot and refine your configuration.
I hope this helps.
