This article focuses on the Qlik Sense Mobile App (QSM) for SaaS Editions of Qlik Sense. The Qlik Sense Mobile App compatible with On-Prem installations have their sessions governed by the setup of the on-premise environment.
Terminology note: A QSM app refers to a mobile app that one would download from the Google Play or Apple stores. An IdP application refers to a configuration managed by the IdP vendor's UI whose purpose is to provide connectivity to a QCS (Qlik Cloud Services) tenant.
Generally, a QSM app user never has to re-login. That is the benefit of the OAuth protocol and the token and refresh-token architecture implemented by Qlik and used by QSM to communicate with QCS.
The exceptions:
A user who has not connected to a tenant via their QSM app for 30 days will automatically be required to login again.
Some IdPs may not be fully configured to support a prolonged login session. This will result in QSM app users having to re-login either every 6 hours (approximately) or once per day. For a prolonged login session the IdP configuration can be adjusted. The most common issues affecting the during of a login session are:
