What are the type of errors in Replicate? 

Answer:

The type of errors in Replicate are: 

Table Error – A error on the whole table level.

Examples

• Permission error on table.

Possible solutions

•     Fix the error on table level (e.g. give permissions) and then reload table.  

Connection Error – Any error that is recoverable.

Examples

• Connection errors
• Timeout errors
• Network issues

Possible solutions

• Replicate will retry automatically.
• If the error persists, this requires analysis.

Duplicate Key Error :

Possible solutions

• If the duplicates are expected (e.g. re-run of CDC from previous timestamp), the errors can be ignored.
• If the duplicates are not expected, requires more analysis -- open a case.

Apply Error:

Examples

• 0 rows affected during CDC.

Possible solutions

• Example error statement in the attrep_apply_execptions table.
• If the 0 rows are expected (e.g. re-run of CDC from previous timestamp), this can be ignored.
• If the errors are not expected, requires more analysis -- open a case.

Fatal Error – A critical error that requires a manual step to fix.

Examples

• Wrong username/password.

• Creating Metadata Manager's utility components failed 
  Cannot create the source utility component
  Failed while preparing stream component

Possible solutions

• Review enhanced logging to identify the root cause
• Fix the error and resume task. Task will pick up from exactly same place

Data Error  - General data error that are not duplicate or apply errors

Examples

• Truncation errors

Possible solutions

• Examine error and see if the column on target has the correct datatype, correct precision and length .
• Check configuration like any transformations that were done that can cause the  issue.
• If everything is defined properly, requires more analysis -- open a case.

How about utility components error message? QLIK Replicate threw the following error message.

Creating Metadata Manager's utility components failed

Cannot create the source utility component

Failed while preparing stream component

What are the possible solutions for this?

This is a Fatal error that can be related to many things, such as a driver/environment issue. Usually, enhanced logging helps identify the root cause.

how about invalid input for table "TABLE_NAME" error message ?

Message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server][SQL Server]The statement has been terminated.;
