QlikView 12.60 Reports within Qlik are "blown-up" when printing from Access Point

I am looking for a solution for one of my customers who recently "upgraded" from QLIKVIEW 11.20 SR12 to 12.60
Previously the client used IIS but this version decided to go with Web Server with this new upgrade - I say upgrade but actually it was a new installation on a new server however we took all the models designed in 11.20 and just opened them in 12.60 to look for any discrepancies.

Basically, in design mode everything on the Report preview looks correct but when you take the model to the Access Point portal then the objects are all resizing themselves and the font appears to be too big and some of the charts do not even scale with the "fill to aspect" option selected. This is all within the Report option found within QlikView itself. It is NOT NPrinting reports.

The User Settings on Export tab - clipboard zoom is 100% on the server under the user properties.

Can you advise if this is a known issue or what we should look at? Has anyone seen this and can advise us?

I looked at the following post but this is related to NPrinting however the reports I am talking about are just the Report menu option from within side QlikView itself.

I'm not too sure, but do you have (or have access to see) the old user settings for the service account?  Compare same values AND check-boxes are exactly the same between servers+service account.

We did set the server up the same way but no harm in re-checking. We will double check and revert. Thanks!

We have checked the old server and the new server and the settings are the same. The big difference between the two is that QV11.20 was using IIS and now with the QV12.60 "version" the  QlikView Web Server was installed.

When designing the model (on the server), the user can select the Report menu option and their report from the report option drop down list. The report preview or even print to PDF will render the report 100% correct. The scale is perfect.

That same model viewed via the Access Point portal takes the report and appears to zoom into the report making the font appear much larger and then the field values do not fit into the report. Any idea why in the QlikView desktop the report looks 100% but as soon as the report is viewed via the Access Point is looks "zoomed out"?

We did notice that the Access Point tab within the QMC was different - refer to screen shots below.
The reason we are looking at the Access Point tab is that is only where the report changes. i.e. I don't think it is a version issue but more an Access Point issue. The browser currently used is Chrome. Can there be a setting there that needs to be revised?

Hi,

I had the exact same issue. Did you also notice that the printed Font is not the font you have selected? I don't know if this was always the case but it is something I noticed. I got around this by making the font really small which is a dirty workaround. So I hope someone has the solution for this!

on the custom format cell I put the text size to 60%

We have tried both with and without a PDF printer.

We did find this: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Knowledge/Install-or-Reinstall-PDF-Xchange-Printer-on-QlikView-Server/...

Note: with QlikView May 2021 (12.60) PDF-Xchange is no longer needed, with the exception of systems running on Windows 2012.

We don't use 12.6 yet but I think that's rather unlikely that the switch from 11.2 to 12.6 is causing the issue because by our upgrading the releases I didn't notice any problems and would say that the font-size and the fitting within the cells didn't change - even that there were a change within the rendering engine somewhere by 12.2 to 12.3.

Much more related to the issue may be the new installation - I assume on a new server hardware (independently if physically or VM) + a new OS - and the replacing of the web-server. I'm far away from be an expert to this matter but I would look to the installed fonts, playing with the screen-scaling settings on the server, the region-settings and similar configuration because I doubt that the Qlik web-server makes everything on it's own else I assume that the tool used various libraries and configurations from the OS. And probably the same assumption is true for the previous use of the IIS - maybe there is somewhere a difference within the handling and this leads to the conflict.

Beside this I would try different browsers and also playing with different zoom-levels - just to see if anything is changing - sometimes it gives new hints to possible reasons and ideas for workarounds.

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for the reply.
What we have now discovered is if I am on the new server with QV12.60 and use the desktop version to open the reports - it renders 100% correctly. It is only when we go via Chrome to the Access Point and use the report menu drop down - select the report then in either preview or print mode then the report looks like it is zoomed in.
It appears to be limited to the Access Point. Would you say this implies a browser setting?

Not ideal at all. I will keep looking but thank you for the feedback. What version of QlikView are you on?
Also, is the issue only via the Access Point portal and looks 100% accurate when using the QlikView Desktop exe?

I am also running 12.60 and server is 2019.

The issue is indeed only occurring via Access Point. Via desktop the report looks as is.
I have also checked if all the Fonts are installed they seem to be installed. I tried changing the font and fontsize of the object, no change in the report result. Always the font CIDFont+F1, F2 or F3 is used.

Same results in Chrome, Edge and internet Explorer.
