Top N customers not displaying top n but all teh results.

Hi All,

I want to display the top 250 customers using pivot table I have used an expression below :

if(aggr(rank(Sum(Total_Amt)),Customer_Mailing_Name,Customer_Address_Line_1,Customer_City)<=10,Sum(Total_Amt))

I am not sure if I have to add the above expression as calculated dimension or as an expression.

And also the above expression returns me all the customers does not limit to 250 which is my concern.

Please help in this issue.

U need address for top 250 members? then add 1 expression for address.

If u face any problem attach ur application here. ti is easy for sort out ur problem

Hi ,

I have added an expression with address but that gets added at the end,when am trying to put the expression -Sum(Atotal_Amt) at the end the order jumbles.But the order looks good when am adding the address as expression at the end.

I am sorry am unable to attach the application as it is very big.I will try again to attach.

How important is it that this chart be a pivot table? If you made it a straight table, it would let you select Top n easily. Are you looking for top 250 in a specific city/region or store?

Hi ,

Even if it is staright table am unable to get the address,city etc.It also holds good just for one customer dimension not multuple diemnsions.I tried all the options in straight table.

I have a solution with straight table - use "max number shown" in presentation page.

And add two new variables vTopN and vTopNDisplay.

You can have name and address as columns instead of expressions.

I'm afraid I don't understand the problem. What is preventing you from simply adding those fields to your pivot table?
