Manually migrating 30 apps in my testenvironment is not a problem.

Almost 900 apps in production is a different piece of cake 😞

Well, the time consumption is probably going to be the same, and you can use select all apps within QMC to start the migration process for all apps at once.

Hi, I upgrade to Septiembre 2019 from Abril 2019. When I open "select data" menu on "data connections" list a error message is shown: "Connector issue: Qlik ODBC Connector Package The connector dialog can not be displayed. Make sure the connector is properly installed and compatible with Qlik Sense " In Chrome web browser console a "404" error appears when a resource is being loaded: Request URL: https://qliksensepxp.chap.junta-andalucia.es/customdata/64/QvOdbcConnectorPackage/web/selectionModel... Request Method: GET Status Code: 404 Not Found Remote Address: 10.226.128.69:443 Referrer Policy: no-referrer-when-downgrade I can not select tables on the menu but I can reload apps...

@jfkinspariThanks for the hint of selecting all apps. This will do the job.

Never the less, I do not understand why apps aren't migrated automatically after upgrading.

When you check the help June 2019  it states:

  •  Apps are migrated automatically, both during an upgrade of Qlik Sense and when importing old apps.

This changed in the September release

  • App migration is not performed automatically when starting Qlik Sense
  • An app with an engine version later than 12.0 is migrated on the fly when you open it in the hub.

Most likely this is because when migrations are done automatically, you have no control over the order that apps get migrated. This can be troubling after a update when you have numerous apps in a "My Work" stream that have no priority for migrating resources.

Also in the old version Apps where not visible untill migrated, now all apps are visible and can be used at once since migrations happen on the fly (not stating the apps will be migrated). This gives you more control over when and what Apps will be migrated.

When you want to migrate all apps at once, just use Ctrl+A and click Migrate

P_verkooijen is correct, the behaviour changed with this specific version, I should also note that as a result it is only apps from Qlik Sense 3 or earlier that absolutely need to be migrated, and they need to have come directly from that Qlik Sense 3 environment. So this should hopefully be a vanishly small portion of apps.

Hello ,

I was planning migration to Sept 19 release but I have been told that there was a bug with the column() function under some scenario.

Is there any confirmation from support this is indeed the case, and if yes when can we expect a patch release as I would like to avoid a double migration ?

Regards

Thomas

@p_verkooijen > since migrations happen on the fly (not stating the apps will be migrated) What does that mean?

HI there:

I have a demo request for publishing a custom report, which I created.

This new report sits in the hub. How do I publish it to NPrinting? I need to set up for publication.

I posted this question, before Sept.2019 release. We just installed Sept 2019 release, and I still don't

see where to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Craig Bolton

Hello @CraigB  -

Back in May I published a blog on how to Connect Qlik Sense Apps to Qlik NPrinting.

You can find the Support Blog at this link: Qlik NPrinting 101: Connecting Qlik Sense Apps

Please let me know if this assists you with what you are trying to accomplish?

Regards,

Eva
