Hi,
In terms of features, is there a simple guide that compares Reporting Services with NPrinting?
For example, can you export the entirety of a sheet not just 1 page?
Can you create power point packs? word documents?
Reporting services looks interesting from an easy to use end to end perspective but just want to be sure of what I will get before moving to SAAS.
Thanks
Martin
Hi Martin
We have this article but there is no direct comparison as these two platforms are completely built separately and exclusively.
Thus a One to One comparison is not available.
But to summarize NPrinting, you can generate and distribute the following to local and network folders, NP newsstand, email recipients and to the Qlik Sense hub:
Note that there is no migration path between NPrinting Reporting and Qlik SAAS (Cloud) reporting as they are completely independent reporting platforms.
With Qlik Reporting I think the most significant advantage is the many distribution points which far exceeds our NPrinting On-Premise reporting destination.
For example just to name a few:
Here is our help page definitions of Qlik Reporting for your convenience as well:
So at the moment, as described, you can distribute Qlik Sense sheet as PDFs with Qlik reporting. You can also:
There are several Qlik Reporting Default automation templates that will help you with these types of requirement and many more.

Please note that MS Office output formats are not currently available in Qlik Reporting but that is on the development road map.
Kind regards...

@Martin_Brennan thanks for the post. Quick note that as part of the current roadmap for Qlik Reporting Service we are working on supporting the ability to produce PPT reports using the same report composition capabilities (e.g. a PPT instead of a PDF).
It appears you are a Qlik NPrinting customer, what are your primary NPrinting use cases that are important to you in your journey to cloud?
Thanks Andrew,
The use case we have is to distribute report packs.
We use Nprinting to create PowerPoint presentations as this allows us to put a nice front page to the report pack. We distribute to email addresses.
Looking at the demos of Reporting studios it seems very easy to burst reports out to many destinations, including email addresses. It also looks a look easier to maintain compared to NPrinting.
Regards
Martin
Many thanks - most useful.
Hi Martin,
Attached is an example sales report produced in ancoreShare extension. Equally it could be produced in PPT Excel (multi sheet) etc.
ancoreShare offers enhanced reporting for Qlik Cloud. It is the only tool to offer Qlik paginated reporting that is pixel perfect and a direct comparison to NPrinting on premise. It also does far more besides.
For now, take a look at the report and let me know if this is the type of capability that meets your needs?
FYI We are exclusive distributor for ancoreShare and offer this tool simply to enable clients to migrate to Qlik Cloud. At Qlik Connect there will be lots of announcements of how customers are adopting this tool. Watch this space. (PS It is not new technology, the extension has persisted for more than ten years with hundreds of customers - they have just kept very quiet about it, until now).
Hi Martin,
If you want a solution to reproduce your NPrinting reports with Qlik Sense SaaS, look at Qalyptus.
You can confidently move to Qlik Sense SaaS; Qalyptus can reproduce all the NPrinting reports (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and HTML), which gives you more capabilities and smoothness of use.
Try it for Free (100% cloud solution; no installation is necessary)
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Lotfi
