Qlik Sense Forecasting Option within Charts

Qlik is correctly focused on real time analytics. I think it would be a great and unique feature if Qlik offered a Future option.

On relevant time based charts, there would be an option to select a time span (e.g. 6 months, year, 5 years) and a suggested forecasting technique, and the chart could extend to show (highlighted differently) the forecasted results.

If you could also adjust current variables to show what if scenarios, then this would be even better.

My knowledge of forecasting techniques is limited to google searching, but  I am getting asked more frequently about how to include forecasting within a Qlik app.

Hi,

I do aggree that it would be nice to have this feature implemented to use it as easy at it is used in Excel.

But while this feature is not available on that simple level I have exactly built what you are asking for already using buttons and statistical chart functions. - https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2020/Subsystems/Client/Content/QV_QlikView/Scripting/Stati...

This is not for end-users or beginners, but every experienced Qlik Developer should be able to built what you described by his own using the already available expressions.

Hello.

Actually it wouldn't be "unique" since some competitors, at leastTableau, already offer it for years 😉

Best regards,

Simon
